رويترز: أمريكا تستعد لصفقة تسليح تاريخية مع السعودية تتجاوز 100 مليار دولار

تستعد إدارة الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب لطرح صفقة تسليح ضخمة على الرياض تتجاوز قيمتها 100 مليار دولار، وفق ما أكدته 6 مصادر مطلعة لوكالة “رويترز”، في مؤشر جديد على عمق العلاقات الاستراتيجية بين الولايات المتحدة والمملكة العربية السعودية.

وبحسب ما نشرته وكالة “رويتزر”، من المتوقع أن يتم الإعلان عن الصفقة خلال الزيارة المنتظرة للرئيس الأميركي دونالد ترامب إلى الرياض الشهر المقبل.

صفقة دفاعية غير مسبوقة

تُعد هذه الصفقة المرتقبة من أكبر اتفاقات التسليح بين البلدين، وتأتي بعد فشل إدارة الرئيس الديمقراطي السابق جو بايدن في التوصل إلى اتفاق دفاعي مع السعودية ضمن صفقة شاملة كانت قيد النقاش.

600 مليار دولار في 4 سنوات

وكان ولي العهد السعودي، الأمير محمد بن سلمان، قد أعرب في يناير الماضي عن تطلع المملكة لتوسيع استثماراتها وعلاقاتها التجارية مع الولايات المتحدة بنحو 600 مليار دولار خلال السنوات الأربع المقبلة، مع احتمالية زيادتها في حال توفرت فرص إضافية.

وجاءت هذه التصريحات خلال اتصال هاتفي مع ترامب بعد توليه السلطة في البيت الأبيض، تناول أيضًا الاتصال أوجه التعاون الاستراتيجي بين السعودية وأمريكا.

أول زيارة خارجية لترامب

وفي مارس الماضي، كشف ترامب عن نيّته زيارة السعودية كأول محطة خارجية له منذ عودته للبيت الأبيض، مشيرًا إلى أن الزيارة ستتضمن مناقشة ضخ ما يصل إلى تريليون دولار من الاستثمارات السعودية في الاقتصاد الأمريكي، بما يشمل صفقات ضخمة لشراء معدات عسكرية.
