غوغل تبدأ جولة جديدة من تسريح الموظفين في وحدات أندرويد وبيكسل

أعلنت شركة غوغل، التابعة لشركة ألفابت، عن تسريح مئات من موظفي وحدة المنصات والأجهزة التي تتولى تطوير نظام التشغيل أندرويد، هواتف بيكسل، ومتصفح كروم.

وهذه الخطوة تأتي في إطار إعادة هيكلة الشركة بعد سلسلة من العروض للمغادرة الطواعية التي قدمتها في وقت سابق.

تسريحات الموظفين نتيجة للدمج في الوحدة

وفقًا لمصادر مطلعة، تم تسريح الموظفين كجزء من عملية دمج وحدات “المنصات والنظم البيئية” و”الأجهزة والخدمات” في وحدة واحدة تحت اسم “وحدة المنصات والأجهزة”، والتي بدأت في أبريل 2024. عملية الدمج جاءت بهدف تحسين الكفاءة التشغيلية وزيادة مرونة العمل في الشركة، بحسب صحيفة “ذا إنفورميشن”.

عروض المغادرة الطواعية وقرار التخفيضات

وفي يناير من هذا العام، عرضت غوغل على موظفي الوحدة خيار المغادرة الطواعية، وهو ما قد يكون قد ساهم في قرار الشركة الأخير لتخفيض العمالة.

وقد أكد متحدث باسم غوغل أن التخفيضات تهدف إلى تعزيز الكفاءة في العمل، ويشمل ذلك تخفيض بعض الوظائف بالإضافة إلى برنامج المغادرة الطوعي.

تسريحات سابقة وتأثيرها على فرق أخرى

وفي فبراير الماضي، كان قد تم تسريح عدد قليل من الموظفين في قطاع الحوسبة السحابية، وهو ما يدل على أن التخفيضات الأخيرة هي جزء من إستراتيجية أوسع لشركة غوغل، وفقاً لما ذكرته وكالة بلومبرغ.

خطة ألفابت لتقليص القوة العاملة

وكانت شركة ألفابت، الأم لشركة غوغل، قد أعلنت في يناير 2023 عن خطط لتقليص قوتها العاملة بنحو 12 ألف وظيفة، وهو ما يعادل حوالي 6% من إجمالي موظفيها حول العالم.
