The Housing and Development Bank's Surgical Wing Witnesses First Surgery at Bahiya Hospital – Sheikh Zayed, Coinciding with World Health Day

On Monday, April 8, 2025, coinciding with World Health Day, the Housing and Development Bank’s surgical wing at Bahiyya Hospital – Sheikh Zayed Branch witnessed its first surgery for breast cancer fighters. This was part of the bank’s ongoing commitment to being a responsible and active member of the community, striving to enhance and support the healthcare sector for a positive and sustainable impact, benefiting as many individuals as possible.

It is worth noting that the surgical wing, which includes two fully equipped operating rooms under the name of Housing and Development Bank, was inaugurated in May 2024 as part of a collaborative agreement with Bahiyya Foundation. The purpose of this collaboration is to conduct surgeries for breast cancer fighters within Bahiyya Hospital, eliminating the need for external hospital treatments. This initiative is expected to directly and effectively facilitate the treatment process for more than 3,500 cases annually, providing comprehensive medical services in line with the highest standards of competence and quality.

In a human gesture reflecting the bank’s commitment to supporting cancer fighters, bank representatives visited the first patient who underwent surgery at the wing. This visit emphasized the bank’s deep commitment to its community and humanitarian role, offering emotional support to the fighters and wishing them a full and speedy recovery.

This collaboration is in line with the Housing and Development Bank’s belief in the importance of supporting the healthcare sector, which is a top priority in the bank’s strategy for corporate social responsibility activities. The bank continues to implement and execute its plan to support women as a key component of sustainable development, given their vital role in society’s progress. Furthermore, the bank is dedicated to supporting and empowering women in alignment with Egypt’s Vision 2030.
