Hassan Abdalla Engages in High-Level Discussions to Enhance Collaboration with African Countries

Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Held a Number of Key Side Meetings with Senior African Officials to Strengthen African Cooperation

H.E. Mr. Hassan Abdalla, Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt (CBE), and Egypt’s Governor at the African Development Bank Group (AfDB), highlighted the strategic importance of the AfDB’s recent Annual Meetings in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire. The meetings served as a platform for exchanging views on the economic and financing challenges facing the continent, with a special focus on developing mechanisms for youth empowerment and strengthening the private sector’s role in supporting startups. The meetings brought together high-level delegations, including heads of state, senior officials, representatives of international institutions, along with decision-makers and experts focused on development issues in Africa.

On the sidelines of the meetings, Mr. Abdalla and his accompanying delegation conducted a series of key engagements, encompassing productive discussions with Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, the newly appointed President of the AfDB and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, whose presidency term concludes in September, as well as several senior African officials to explore opportunities for mutual collaboration.

In this context, Mr. Abdalla extended his heartfelt congratulations to Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, on his election as the new President of the AfDB, wishing him continued success in his endeavors to advance the economic and social development across Africa. He also commended Dr. Akinwumi Adesina accomplishments during his ten-year tenure as the AfDB’s President.
