الولايات المتحدة تفرض رسوما جمركية بقيمة 21% على الطماطم القادمة من المكسيك

أعلنت حكومة الولايات المتحدة عزمها فرض رسوم جمركية بنسبة تقارب 21% على معظم الطماطم القادمة من المكسيك خلال الصيف، مُجادلةً بأن الاتفاقية الحالية لم “تحمِ” مزارعي الطماطم في الولايات المتحدة من “الواردات المكسيكية ذات الأسعار غير العادلة”.

اتفاقية التجارة لعام 2019 مع المكسيك

وفقا لوكالة بلومبرغ، أعلنت وزارة التجارة الأمريكية عزمها الانسحاب من اتفاقية التجارة لعام 2019 مع المكسيك، وأن “أمرا برسوم مكافحة الإغراق” سيطبق في 14 يوليو.

صرحت وزارة التجارة الأمريكية في بيان: “سيسمح هذا الإجراء لمزارعي الطماطم الأمريكيين بالمنافسة العادلة في السوق”.

خلال الولاية الأولى للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب في البيت الأبيض، أبرمت الحكومة الأمريكية اتفاقية مع منتجي الطماطم المكسيكيين لمنع فرض رسوم جمركية محتملة بنسبة 25% على هذه السلعة.

منع استيراد الطماطم منخفضة الجودة

تضمنت اتفاقية عام 2019 أحكاما تنفيذية، بما في ذلك آلية تفتيش لمنع استيراد الطماطم منخفضة الجودة، وتحديد أسعار أنواع مختلفة من هذه السلعة.

في أوائل عام ٢٠١٩، خلال الولاية الأولى للرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترامب في البيت الأبيض، هددت الحكومة الأمريكية بالانسحاب من الاتفاقية الحالية وفرض رسوم جمركية على المكسيك، وذلك بعد شكاوى من مزارعين في فلوريدا زعموا أن مكسيكو سيتي تمارس سياسة قمع أسعار المحصول، مستغلة بذلك واشنطن.

ودولة المكسيك، هي الشريك التجاري الرئيسي للولايات المتحدة، أكبر مستورد للطماطم، إلى جانب الخضراوات والفواكه.

نزاعات تجارية أخرى

دخلت المكسيك والولايات المتحدة في نزاعات أخرى، حيث هدد ترامب في وقت سابق من هذا العام بفرض رسوم جمركية إضافية على المكسيك بعد أن تخلفت عن الموعد النهائي لنقل مياه نهر ريو غراندي إلى الولايات المتحدة، المنصوص عليه في معاهدة عام ١٩٤٤.

قالت رئيسة المكسيك كلوديا شينباوم يوم الجمعة إن المكسيك ستقوم بتسليم المياه “فوريا” للمزارعين في تكساس.
